I don’t know what it is but I love to take pictures of Colin sitting in his glider in just a diaper. I took these pictures for a side by side comparison of how he looked in a diaper in this chair at a bit over 2 and a half months and how he looks now 2 months later. We had a sense that from all the leg kicking his tummy was getting a little more toned.
I’m not sure from the pictures that he is much more toned, but he is certainly a lot more alert and he adores grabbing his toes. Both of the pictures I took were so cute I couldn’t post just one. So here is a cute one from today:
And here is one from today compared side by side with one from February 7th:

I am proud to announce, to those who don’t already know, that my family has a medical marvel!! My cutie pie nephew Dylan has shocked and amazed not only his mom and dad and sister, but his entire extended family and more importantly his dentist, who vocalized his amazement with an “Oh My!” after looking at Dylan’s X-Ray’s (probably not the response one hopes for from their doctor/dentist).
My brother David (aka Dylan’s dad) explains it best:
The prevalence is much greater in Asians, Eskimos, and Native Americans, and there is some evidence that it is a genetic trait from the father’s side (thanks a lot, Dad). He has hyperdontia, in the form of an extra tooth. The technical term is a supernumerary tooth, the practical application of which makes it look like on the x-ray that he has a fang, right between the two front teeth. In fact it is making his left front tooth and the one next to it turn sideways about 90 degrees. It’s already poking out and will need to be pulled out within the next several months. There is a possibility that the real teeth might rotate into alignment once the fang is pulled out, but as I have come to experience, “might” is doctor speak and in this case means “yeah right, this kid is going to cost you a ton of dough in braces when he’s older” in regular people speak.
See below for photographic evidence. Just wait for show and tell when Dylan gets to bring these photos in and show all of his friends how he had a fang!
