You may have to turn your volume up a bit, but here’s one of Colin snoring! Poor little guy still has a cold, but it’s so darn cute.

A You’re Adorable

Mommy has been experimenting with video tonight. Here is a video of her singing one of my favorite songs. Don’t mind the camera work or the outfit mommy is wearing. Daddy forgot he can’t turn the camera and mommy was dressed for bed and not thinking she might be videotaped.

If There Were a Draft…

Could you get out of it by explaining to the military that you were gay?

(This question actually comes from watching a recent episode of 30 Days—a television series with the guy from Supersize Me discussing homosexuality. Ironically, the way they explored the topic was by having a “very” straight man from Michigan become a gay man’s roommate in San Francisco’s Castro district. Kind of an interesting experiment.)

[But don't let the background befuddle the question---would the army's "don't ask, don't tell" (thank you very little NU professor Charles Moskos) policy allow you to escape service if you "accidentally" "told"...?]

(Wikipedia has some interesting comments on the DADT policy.)

“Alumni” Originals (?)

Got a kind of cool direct mail piece the other day. Time seems to blur these days, so I am guessing I got it a while ago since it says “all orders must be placed by February 17th” or somesuchwhatnot.

In any event, check it out. Go to this site and select the name “Ellsworth” from the list and then you start to see this kind of stuff. Since it says you have to order by 17 Feb 2006, you may have to select the name from the “past names” link, but you’ll still be able to see all their wares—personalized with the Ellsworth last name!

Kind of a cool junk mail piece. Certainly grabbed my attention. Not enough, mind you, for me to bother purchasing anything—but neat just the same.

Playing Dress Up

Mommy loves playing dress up with Colin although she’s not so sure Colin enjoys it.

Here Colin shows his support for the city his dad is hoping he will be spending a lot of time in while going to college, thanks to Therese who sends us the coolest clothes. He’s also got his Froggy Robeez on! Thanks to Melissa! I can’t take credit for posing his arm like that, he did that all on his own.

Unfortunately we can’t really go a few minutes in new clothes without spitting up on them nowadays, so don’t mind the wet spots on the shirt!

He was so tired holding onto the mirror to look at himself that he fell asleep still holding onto that mirror!

Happiest Baby on the Block

7. February 2006

I may be biased but I think we really do have the happiest baby on the block.

Yes, that shirt does say “if mommy says no… ask grandma”.

I should report that Colin successfully napped for about 5 or 10 minutes while sucking on his thumb today. The only problem is that he was opening his mouth a bit too wide for his little thumb with each suck, but I think that’s because he’s used to sucking on his mom and dad’s fingers which are much bigger.
