Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
We are fighting our food comas right now—successfully enough to get these pictures from the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade posted. We had a great time with some friends up on the 28th floor of our building (Hi Wendy & Joe!) watching the parade and sharing a great Thanksgiving meal.
The weather was great this morning for the parade (60s), but is very nearly freezing now (high 30s). Thank goodness! If it had been too windy they would not have been able to fly the balloons for the parade. And who wants to watch a bunch of marching bands and small little floats?
I’m not labeling the pictures since I think these folks are pretty self-explanatory…

Isn’t that a magazine or something? I know I recognize it from somewhere. Anyway, this particular post could more appropriately be entitled “Apartment Finished” or “Closet-Sized Dwelling Outfitted,” but I tend to type whatever pops into my head first so there you have it.
So… We have had our furniture for a month or more by now, but only two days ago did I finally take some pictures and only now am I posting them. With apologies to Vegan’s and the entire anti-leather lobby, we really like our couch/chair combo and with similar apologies to those against chopping down trees, we actually like the big wall unit entertainment center thingie too.
The first image, obviously, is of our dining room area with a little peek in through the kitchen pass-through window. The middle image is of our couch and chair combo with our decoration. It looks as though we positioned them “just so” but they actually do that themselves—I think they like the leather smell and squishiness of the cushions. The last picture is of our wall unit. I love (!) this the most. A perfect place for everything and it keeps things neat and tidy. And Deb can tell you all about how I like things neat and tidy.

Deb and I recently moved our “office” room around a bit to re-situate everything and get it settled to how we want it to be. We got quite a bit of assistance from “mommy’s little helper…”
And here she is showing mommy there is more room for folders.
Okay… Admit it. Now you are worried the blog has totally gone to seed and is basically just an online photo album for Matt and Deb’s cats.
You could be right.
But by reading this at least you learned that Deb and I do something other than work. (Even if the avocation is just taking pictures of our cats.)

If your holiday schedule doesn’t leave you time to prepare and eat solid food this Thanksgiving, consider The Jones Soda Holiday Pack. It contains “a complete holiday meal replacement set” of sodas representing “a square meal.”
I’m not making this up.

WIRED magazine ran a review of the set and indicated that “the only thing worse than these bottles of liquid evil is their aftertaste.”
Wow.

The answer is quite simple… They all play at the Roseland which is just down the street from us. We had no idea we were moving in so close to what is evidently a major music venue here in New York City. You’ll have to tell us if you’ve heard of it—we certainly hadn’t.
Which, incidentally, is the worst website in the world.
In any event, we’ve had some random evenings coming home to find our street literally mobbed from people trying to either catch glimpses of the “celebrities” (I feel like I have to put that in quotes since I have a hard time ackownleding that the crazies playing this evening—Megadeth—are celebrated by anyone, anywhere). Debra actually looked out our living room window to watch Eminem (in a suit!) drive by sitting in a convertible on his way to the screaming throngs.
Random.
