What’s in a name?

So I feel from my experience that in general people tend to like the same name. If two people like the name Fred, then if one suggests another name they like than the other person will most times like it as well.

Here are my examples, funny how they are all Ellsworth related, I guess because the Ellsworth names are pretty classic/popular, so maybe that is more what’s going on…

1. Older son was Zachary (sp?), younger son was Jake.
2. Older son was Matthew, younger son was Zachary.

Ok, so it isn’t a lot of examples, but kind of an interesting coincidence.

We met Matthew (2.5) and Zach (5 months) at the park today for a Pig Pen play group. This was a group of moms getting their under 3 sons together to play and get dirty. Sadly Colin’s injury means he isn’t interested in the slides and such, which isn’t a surprise. He was also pretty easy to cry over toys at the park. Colin spent the entire time playing with 2 year old Rex’s toys. Rex has a brother name Beck (7 months). Very unique names for those boys.

We are looking forward to meeting up with these boys again next week!

Chips

Colin saw a bag of pita chips I was eating while nursing Hannah (she doesn’t let me sit down and eat very often, so I have been eating portable food lately) and he asked to have some. Being a tired mommy I just handed him the bag. He started munching on them and then a few minutes later gave me back the bag, I didn’t think much of it until he started walking around with a little plastic bowl of chips.

He had found a bowl, who knows where and whether it was clean, put a handful of chips inside it and gave me back the bag. He did for himself what I should have done for him. He’s a great little boy.

However, we are going on day 5 of the Nap Strike of ’08. We are in negotiations to end it soon, wish us luck.

Add This to Your “To Do” List

A wonderful thing happened on the way to… uh… work? Well, it was still wonderful. And it is definitely something I have added to my mental “to do” list.

Thanks to our friend Katie for sharing her story.

Sighting: The Beatles?

I’m not certain it’s the Beatles, but it does serve as a quick teaser to the photos we’ll be posting soon about our trip to Iowa.

Two Years from Now

I’m going to level with you. I’m worried. A friend from work showed me this video of young Hannah at age two if we don’t sell our condo and have to end up renting it out…

Pressing Issues

1. Determining that, yes, indeed. Captain Crunch is still my favorite sugar cereal. Ever since I first had it over at the McHugh’s a thousand years ago. Eatin’ some now. Mmmmmmmm.

2. Figuring out how to spend the $100 Apple store credit I got for being an early adopter/purchaser of the iPhone 2 months before they reduced the price by $200.

(For those keeping score at home, yes, that means I’m still down $150 on the phone. $100 for the price difference and another $50 for paying the college kid to wait in line for it. On the plus side—and we weren’t sure this was going to be the case—I did get the rebate. We wondered if the college kid would get that, too, since he has the original receipt…)
