Singing Star Wars
If you are at 143 Oakview these days then this is probably what can be heard through out the day:
4×400 Meter Relay (in 1992) aka “I used to be a runner…”
A hundred years ago (or 18-ish) I used to be a competitive runner. And I used to run with a good group of guys — Ryan Thorn, Jason Brunette, Jay Lillie — in the 4×400 and some other folks in the 4×800 in high school. Loved my experience at Northwestern University, but kind of wish I could have built on the high school successes… Whatevs. Fun to watch two decades later. Even Colin thought it was cool… (“Again!”)
Yeah, that’s me anchoring.
1: Ryan Thorn
2: Jason Brunette
3: Jay Lillie
4: Moi…
Thanks to my lil’ brother for turning this VHS tape into a DVD a couple (more?) years back that I finally uncovered and turned into 1′s and 0′s I could upload to YouTube…
“Fun Day” @ Swim Class
Colin had a great time at Swim Class today at the Maplewood Community Pool. A big benefit of joining is the free swim lessons (just for Colin; Hannah can do them next year) that are building on his classes from the Summit YMCA. Anyway, check out the video of his first jump off a diving board (!)… No fear. Love it!
Hannah Singing
I got Beatles Rockband for my birthday and it has been a HUGE hit for the whole family. Colin can get 50% singing yellow submarine and he isn’t too bad on the drums either. Hannah has recently tried to get into the singing game. I’m pretty sure this is her rendition of yellow submarine.
Snowman
Hurray, today the snow was snowman making snow! I haven’t made a snowman in years and years, it is quite fun. Sadly there wasn’t a lot of snow out there, so our snowman needs a shower. Thanks to Grandma and Grandpa E for giving Matt the snowman in a sack!
First Day of School, First Day of School
We’re ready to learn to get some knowledge. Name that movie.

The family tradition (thanks to Suzanne’s family) of taking a picture in front of the garage. Can’t start fingers until 1st grade though.

“Are you really excited Colin?”

With his friend Jackie Kalaher.

“Mrs. Illingworth, this is my pirate ship shirt, isn’t it great?”

As you can see his teacher is already having to tell him to clean up after himself. That blur you see in the front of the picture is his best bud Ellie.
