This weekend we went Apple Picking with Colin’s playmate Cecilia and her mom, dad, aunt and uncle at the Barton Orchards in Fishkill. Paula Reds, Macintosh, Spartamac and Jonamac were all ready for picking as were some peaches.
First we picked peaches, Matt ate two straight off the tree and was in heaven. At first Colin wasn’t so sure of the peaches, but then once he started to use his teeth on them he quite enjoyed them.
Next came the Jonamac’s, where we spent a lot of time. At first Matt held the apple for Colin to chew on, who knew apples were so great for teething. Then Matt realized that Colin could hold the apple and chew on it all by himself.
Once Colin was sitting down and having a grand old time with his apple Cecilia came over for a visit.
Finally we headed over to the Paula Red’s, some of which were humongous, too big to fit into an apple corer. At this point it was time to pack it in and grab a gallon of Cider at the store before jumping in the car for Colin’s much needed nap. It was in the 80s that day! We all had a lot of fun and will definitely be making future apple picking trips. On Sunday night we spent the evening making homemade apple sauce which Colin will be enjoying for some time now.

Did Daddy get peach juice down his neck? Love the two little ones sitting and eating together.

Beautiful pictures with intense colors. I wish I could have been there. I’m glad you people were there. One picture showed individual clover leaves, and that helped set a mood for me. We have Jacob in person today, and Colin here by brilliant pictures. There is a kind of wealth in that; we are blessed.

I forgot to add, Matt actually ate 4 apples straight off the tree as well!
Yeah, baby and daddy were a bit sticky after the day was over. But that was solved by a fun bath!

They are all adorable. Top right is my favorite…a classic! Like father, like son.
