Mom and Dad come today! We just stopped by Bed Bath and Beyond to pick up the Aerobed that officially makes our apartment on West 52nd Street Hotel Ellsworth.
Not sure what all we’ll end up doing, but we’ll definitely be taking them to see the waste of money that is The Gates in Central Park. While I think it will be interesting from the perspective of “wow—you really can spend $21 million on decorating a bike path,” Deb and I were guessing we wouldn’t need to see it more than once, so we’ve held off going until they’re here. (Which is why, Little Brother, you haven’t seen a post on the blog about it yet.)
I think we’re also going to try to get up and see something of the Today Show or Good Morning America or whichever network seems to be most exciting when we get to that part of town (which isn’t far from here).
Not sure what else… But we’re excited to have visitors!

Wow is right! If I had $21,000,000, I could think of better ways to spend it. Was there a purpose behind these “gates”?….other than to be able to spot the park from the air?

We were excited to BE the visitors. Matt and Deb were very good to us. New York is interesting if you’re with people who know something about how to enjoy (and even survive) it. They used the aerobed, giving us the “regular” bed. I appreciate it. I also appreciate the Internet “fixes” that kept us from severe withdrawal while at their place.
