Our local Turtle Back Zoo has a lovely aviary where the kids can feed the birds. Our recent visit there made Colin and I feel like Dr Doolittle since the birds readily sat on our sticks to eat and stayed a long time, even when other people were struggling to get a bird to come near them.

I love how he answers, matter of factly, no trace of the sass that will come later (of the duh, mom, variety…)
And it is WAY cool!
I have been to the Turtle Back Zoo with Colin and Hannah and Deb. What a nice place. I’m telling you though, it is daunting to walk into the aviary for the first time and be surrounded by hundreds of birds. You gradually get used to it and it becomes a fascinating experience.
