At about 11am this morning the weather was cold but the skies were clear. At about 11:30am we were in the midst of a blizzard. You can read all about it on cnn.com.
Matt and I decided we should go for a walk to run a few errands: stock up on food, pick up a few items at Home Depot, etc. As we were walking the snow fall was so strong that we could only see about a block ahead of us at a time.
They were expecting 10 inches to dump on New York City and I am pretty sure we are well on our way towards that.
Winter has officially arrived!

Going to get really cold here too. It’s 6:30 in the evening and the temperature is 67 degrees. (so how jealous are you?)

I left that sort of weather up north and hope that you enjoy it. Then again, we get those Darn Hurricanes here. Must more farther south!! Had to put on jeans tonight, the short pants and tee shirt was just not enough for the 65 degree weather. Darn

Although you do have to worry about tsunamis on this side of the world. (but not way up here on the Mekong)

The comments so far are disgusting…we got 12 inches with plenty of wind. And the windchills have been below zero. Currently on a sunny Sunday morning at 10:30 it is minus 1 degree, but feels like minus 12 degrees. I totally sympathize with you guys!!

Because our needed *second* snowplowing of our driveway didn’t come in time, we missed the Lansing Civic Players presentation, “A Slight Exaggeration”, and going to church.
I finally wrote up my experience with the Blizzard of 1967.

Dad, I have to say this is one of my favorite pieces of yours I’ve read. It is alternately very sweet and very descriptive. I learned a lot about the “early days” of the burgeoning Dan/Judy romance and had all kinds of fun trying to picture you two sitting and talking for hours in that room “from which everyone refrained” (or however you said it).
THANKS for sharing it.

Thank you, Matthew. I think you have known the wonder of thinking, “Is this really happening?” as a woman starts to become important to you, and then the growing confidence, “This is really happening!” Yes, it is, and now we face blizzards together.
