Potty mouth

Colin just informed me that later we would be talking about butts. When asked what we would be discussing in regards to butts he said “poop and butts, that is a silly word” and then proceeded to chuckle.

All of this after he sang most of the song deep and wide on his own.

That’s my boy! Full of complexities and completely unrelated thoughts. :)

It’s hard to keep a straight face sometimes, isn’t it?

I am afraid he may have learned some from John who learned “chicken butt” as his silly word from a preschool classmate (just finally told us that is who taught it to him). Fortunately an older cousin convinced him to instead say “chicken pot pie” which I heard him tell Colin multiple times. Got to love boys!

I think our boys (maybe not all; memory fuzzy) replied to “What?” with “Chicken butt.” There is that desire to test the powers of words on big people. I tried not to react visibly, but you can’t win ‘em all. And I agree with Matthew. We “do” complexities and unrelated thoughts, routinely.
