Does that mean I am technically an “executive” now? Wow.

CONGRATULATIONS! Do be careful about that “executive – wow” stuff. Might need a tight fitting hat to keep the proper proportions between head and body.

Congratulations! I am already saying, “My borther is an executive at Dow Jones Integrated Solutions!” Okay, I said it to a student who asked, “What’s new?” BUT I did say it already. That is cool… my brother is a business executive in New York City. You are big time!

Congratulations, Matt! Does this mean our next trip to NYC is on you?

Does this mean that you get a key to the “executive washroom”? (and is that question mark supposed to be inside the quotes? Grammarians?)

This improves my opinion of executives.

For some time, I have liked your mind, and been amused by your executive signature. ;-) (Have you been amused by my penmanship-class signature?) Externals aside, you have shown the ability to keep a big-picture, purposeful perspective without losing significant facts and details. I think you have good character, too, which might make you less newsworthy, but that’s OK.

I’m babbling a little here, but anyway, I like it. Congratulations!

Congratulations, Matt!! That does sound pretty cool….my nephew is an executive at Dow Jones Integrated Solutions in New York City. After reading (and printing out, of course) the press releases, I must admit I still don’t know what you do, but it sure sounds important!

 Congrats Matt (and Deb too). Gee an Executive.. That means that you now run coffee directly to the boss instead of making it and waiting for the “Executive to come get it for the boss”. Once in the “Board Room” you will have to remember that the toes you are stepping on today you may be kissing tomorrow.

    Impressive!
I need an interpreter to understand some of the business terms used in that news release. I do understand, however, that you have exceptional business skills.

Roseanne — thanks for admitting that you don’t know what Matt does. I don’t know how many times I’ve asked him, but it doesn’t stick. No matter what he does, being called an “executive” in New York City surely is impressive.

I found only the internal information to be nearly opaque. The press release wasn’t too bad. I suspect the “what he does” question could be answered in six main categories of activity:
    1. Research and study.
    2. Communicate.
    3. Schmooze.
    4. Whatever’s needed.
    5.
    6.
I didn’t say I *knew* what the areas were; I just thought there might be about six.
