Photography Lesson 5: Indoor Lighting

Most professional photographers, if not all perhaps, seem to hate the flash that comes with the camera. It’s harsh and head on and tends to not produce the most pleasing photographs. Our teacher gave us tips on how to take better pictures inside using available light and the different camera settings. I finally used Hannah as my subject for a photography assignment!

Photography Lesson 0: Have Interesting Subjects. (That makes the other lessons worthwhile.) I think you have this one down very well.

So, is it a matter of aperture and shutter speed?

Somewhere, we have a picture of Matt on a tricycle with his head tilted about that much.

    I’m enjoying your photography lessons.

You mentioned ISO. Is that only film, or can digital cameras be set to an ISO setting? I’m starting to think digital now, I guess.
