Out of the mouths of babes…

When asked if he is itchy Colin responds “No, I’m rubby.”

A little background, Colin has eczema so pretty much always has some kind of rash on him at any one time. We try to prevent the constant itching by telling him to rub instead. Hence, he was rubby, not itchy…

reminds me of when I asked a little boy if he had turkey for thanksgiving and he said “no, too wingy” (insert flapping wing motion here)

Sometimes, as an amateur writer who splices and dices words a little, I consider myself a “wordsmith”. But for verbal inventiveness, I yield to children.

I think I remember, Matthew, that you had sensitive skin. I think you were too young to complain in words when we put that brownish goop on you which had as an active ingredient “coal tar derivative.” It was not fashionable.

Dylan has off and on (currently off, and has been for quite some time) eczema on his hands. We brought him to doctors literally around the world, but none of them or their treatments helped. He’s not had an outbreak in about a year. We think that it was a change in diet (reduced refined sugars), plus Stefanie made a topical solution of oxydrops and anytime she thought of it she would put three drops on it and rub. Not exactly scientific, but might be something to try, at least?
