As some of you will have heard by now, it is true. I am headed back to Dow Jones. My last day at my current job is September 14th and I will be back at Dow Jones starting on September 20th as Sales Development Director for Dow Jones Integrated Solutions.
I’ve loved my time at Business 2.0—and I will be leaving behind a group of people I’ve really enjoyed working with—but the opportunity at Dow Jones is just too good to pass up. Plus we’ll be moving to New York which is something we’ve been wanting to do for a while now…
So exciting!
Deb and I am are beginning the process of figuring out where we should live (any thoughts?). It is going to be a hectic couple of weeks, but we cannot wait to get out there to NYC and start wearing all black!

Congratulations! You done good. Everyone I know in NYC lives in Brooklyn. John and Justin’s aunt and uncle and cousins Ben and Adam, Amanda’s sister, and my friend Ruth’s daughter. At least there’s a tree there.

One thing I like is that this is not just Dow Jones saying “We want Matt”, but “We want to DO THIS, and we want Matt”. I believe you have the mental range and balance for “Integrated Solutions”, maybe exploring [Polysyllabic alert! Polysyllabic alert!] the multiple modalities of synergy.
Meanwhile, Debra has been able to make her work portable — yes, I mean the Event 360 work, too.
I’m thinking of visiting you by train someday. I know, don’t recommend it to Amy and John; it might work worse for them.
Living in New York? I am bereft of clues, having only questions: How come we never hear about Queens? And is Richmond too rough, expensive, out-of-it, or far from work? Are there professional experts to consult in narrowing down the search? And who put the “bomp” in the … oh, no, that’s another question.
Congratulations!

If you’re short on dark wardrobe, I can lend you the black t-shirt I just wore in NYC. It says “Free Speech Zone” against a map of the U.S.

Congrats. I too had been hoping you two would return to NYC. How could you not love that town! It also means you will be closer to us…meaning road trips to visit you! Seriously, couldn’t be more happy for you.
