My company, Event 360, in addition to producing the Breast Cancer 3-Day Walks for Komen also has Phil Collins as one of our clients.
Phil is on his final tour and I got the opportunity to go last night to it while he was in San Jose. We got really great seats and a quick walk backstage. We didn’t get to go anywhere cool backstage though. We did see Phil down the hallway, he’s very short…
It was a pretty good concert, very full stadium. He has a lot of devoted fans.
I was able to take a few pictures with my cell phone, but I don’t have flash or zoom, so this is the best I could do.

Congratulations, Debra! Although Phil Collins is not one of my personal “superstars”, he’s better than average, nice voice, some good material. I just looked it up, born in 1951. Does he still play drums in his concerts? That seems to be a deep early theme in his career.

Yeah. He spent a lot of time at the drums. Actually he spent probably the first 10 minutes on them.
I’m not a fan of him either, but the tickets were free and we got to go backstage!

1951 was a very good year to be born in whether you’re a rock star or a … This makes me think of a possible interesting subject. How to describe oneself in one sentence that doesn’t go on for paragraphs? I hope that Phil Collins doesn’t have to describe himself as “just” a rock star. I’m giving myself more time to work out exactly how I want to describe myself. I am at work and should probably earn my xx.xx dollars per hour.

I’ve never considered Phil Collins a rock star, but a performer, musician and a not bad “writer” of music that I happen to enjoy. Sounds like he entertained you. I’m jealous!

I’m glad to hear someone else say they were jealous. I was, too! I actually like Phil. Reminds me of l-o-n-g bus rides to school in the morning and all those high school dances I never went to.
Anyway, I’m going to get my “Serious Hits…Live!” album signed by him! Deb took it with her and has pull, you know. I can’t wait to see it! Should be cool.
